Mike Bresnahan covers the Lakers for The Times and ties up loose ends before all their playoff games. The Lakers lead the Denver Nuggets, 2-1, heading into Sunday evening's Game 4.
Looks like the Lakers are tired of getting outrebounded by the small-ball Nuggets.
“You’ve got to put bodies on people,” Pau Gasol said, and he couldn’t stop talking about bodies.
“If our bigs for some reason are not able to put bodies on their bigs, then the smalls have to come in there and get their nose in there and start hitting people to keep them off the boards. It’s a collective effort as far as all getting in the lane, all putting bodies on people and all going after the ball.”
Gasol had a good reason to sound tough. Point guard Ramon Sessions had two more rebounds than him in Game 3.
