New "X-Factor"judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato can rest assured that Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, their predecessors on the judging panel, are wishing them good luck.

Abdul appeared on the Wendy Williams show Wednesday and said of the new lineup, "I think it's going to be great."

The former judge added, "I think people are anticipating seeing Britney Spears. She's had a long career and she's overcome a tremendous amount of adversity, and I am always for the underdog coming back. She's a big star." Abdul went on to call Lovato "a new budding star" as well.

On the carpet of a "Men in Black 3" premiere the same day, Scherzinger told E News, "I wish them [Britney Spears and Demi Lovato] the best of luck. I'm excited for them."

Abdul and Scherzinger's blessings can be added to those of another pop diva, "American Idol"judge Jennifer Lopez, who recently said of Spears and Lovato, "I think they're both more than capable to handle it."

Spears' and Lovato's first turn in the judges' seats comes Thursday in Austin, Texas. Beforehand, Lovato shouted out her home state on Twitter, writing, "Austin auditions today.... back in my home state... Texas are you ready??!!"

Spears also tweeted her arrival and tweaked fellow judge Simon Cowell, writing, "Just arrived for @TheXFactorUSA auditions - hope everyone is ready! Still waiting on @SimonCowell of course...."

In the event that things don't work out for the new judges, Spears at least can fall back on her ever-expanding perfume line. Then again, nothing smells sweeter than success.
