Slash's unfinished business

Guns N' Roses' former guitarist talks Rock Hall of Fame induction, his new solo album, 'Apocalyptic Love,' and chances of a GNR reunion (none).

Zeppelin singer Robert Plant chose not to participate in a reunion, so Kennedy was brought to England, where he jammed with the Zeppelin vets and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the band's late drummer, John Bonham. "As a fan, it was one of those crazy experiences you never dreamed in a million years would happen," said Kennedy, who worked with the Zeppelin vets during two visits before the project ended. "I will definitely take that to my grave. I've flown under the radar for most of my career, and suddenly in the last four years some of the experiences I've gotten to have are the stuff dreams are made of."

For Slash, there is also unfinished business with Velvet Revolver, which has been on hiatus since the abrupt exit of singer Scott Weiland in 2008. The band occasionally reconvenes in private as its members search for a new vocalist, but a brief reunion with Weiland for a January benefit concert at the House of Blues in West Hollywood did not indicate permanence.

"Scott showed up and was in good form and everything," Slash said, "but there wasn't that spark of magic like, 'Let's resurrect this.' I can't make those same mistakes over and over again."
