Letters: This memorial is fishy

November 02, 2012

Re "Memorial sought where fish perished," Oct. 30

My son-in-law in Michigan, upon hearing of the tragic truck accident in which 1,600 pounds of fish died — and that the animal rights group PETA wants memorialized — suggested a lemon wedge-shaped fountain of tartar sauce upon a base of used fishhooks and sinkers.

PETA: You've got to be kidding.

The only thing dumber than the proposed memorial to road-kill fish is the fact that The Times devoted several column inches to the story.
