The Xbox 360 not only outsold Nintendo's new Wii U during Thanksgiving week, but also outsold the Wii U and the original Wii combined.
Microsoft's video game console, which has been No. 1 in the U.S. since 2010, sold 750,000 units last week, the company said.
Nintendo, by contrast, sold 400,000 Wii U's, a figure that was in part constrained by limited supply. The Japanese gaming giant also sold 300,000 units of the original Wii, which debuted in 2006.
The Xbox 360 has climbed to the top of the sales charts and stayed there through a combination of must-have titles for hard-core gamers, such as the recently released "Halo 4," and digital entertainment options for a general audience, including streaming movies, television shows and music.
