Los Angeles institution Campanile plans to shut its doors with a big send-off on Halloween. After 23 years, co-founder and chef Mark Peel will prepare Campanile's last supper. It will be a "Black and White" party -- and it's all-you-can-eat-and-drink.
The building that houses the storied restaurant will be taken over by the end of the year by restaurateur Bill Chait and chef Walter Manzke, who plan to open Republique in the spring. Campanile's Peel had said he would remain open until the end of November but has decided to close this month.
