And for one night at least, they did not have to be eliminated by the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" href="http://www.latimes.com/topic/sports/baseball/san-francisco-giants-ORSPT000025.topic">Giants</a>."</p><p>Hernandez spelled out the Dodgers' chances in Tuesday's paper:</p><p>"The best-case scenario for the Dodgers at this point is a one-game playoff on Thursday against the Cardinals.
