October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and restaurants around town are offering food and drink specials to help spread the word and raise funds for the cause. Here are some of the specials. If you know of something we've missed, please let us know in the comments section below:
The California Pizza Kitchen in Pasadena has teamed up with the city's Fire Department for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For every guest who visits the restaurant on Oct. 11 and brings in a special Fire Department flier (available for download in the photo section at www.facebook.com/pasadena.pink ) the restaurant will donate 20% of the guest's check to the Pasadena Huntington-Hill Breast Cancer Center. Firefighters will be on hand in pink shirts to serve and greet guests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can also purchase the pink shirts, with proceeds going to the Huntington-Hill Breast Cancer Center. 99 N. The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills is offering a Pink Afternoon Tea for the month of October. The tea includes strawberries and whipped cream, a savory caviar cake and an assortment of sandwiches, scones and rose colored pastries. Guests can choose from more than 20 types of tea and a glass of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé Champagne, a traditional Peninsula Page “Cap Cake” gift to take home and a $50 Trina Turk promotional card to use at any Trina Turk boutique.
