It's been a long time since they rock 'n' rolled -- almost five years, to be exact. And if the men of Led Zeppelin have anything to say about it, the English band's one-off reunion show in December of 2007 might be their last.
Speaking to the news media this week in New York after a screening of a new Led Zeppelin concert film, guitarist Jimmy Page effectively quashed fans' hopes for additional shows, according to an item at Entertainment Weekly.
"It's disappointing for people when the answer is no," Page reportedly said. "But that's what it is now."
Those troubled by that news can comfort themselves at any of a number of Southland movie theaters on Wednesday, when "Celebration Day" arrives in cinemas for a limited one-day run. The film documents Led Zeppelin's universally acclaimed 2007 gig at the O2 Arena in London, where it reunited -- with the late John Bonham's son Jason on drums -- to pay tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. Following its theatrical engagement, "Celebration Day" is set for release on home video Nov. 19, just days before Led Zeppelin is honored at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors.
