Wondering where the plaintive piano and sawing strings went on Green Day's recent back-to-basics album "¡Uno!"? Evidently the Bay Area punk band was saving them for "The Forgotten," its new single from the soundtrack to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2."
Posted to Soundcloud on Tuesday, the song is a slow-moving power ballad in the vein of past Green Day hits such as "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," with a tender vocal performance by Billie Joe Armstrong and heavy words about not looking away from the arms of a moment (whatever that means).
