Collection Intervention: One man's collection of "Battlestar Galactica" memorabilia has reached epic proportions in this new episode of the reality series (10 p.m. Syfy).

Great Lake Warriors: This docu-series about salty captains and their seasoned crews sailing sometimes treacherous Great Lakes ends its freshman season (11:02 p.m. History).

Democratic National Convention: Broadcast networks and cable news channels offer coverage of the proceedings in Charlotte, N.C. (4 p.m. CNN, MSNBC; 5 p.m. KOCE, Fox Business; 6 p.m. NBC, Fox News; 7 p.m. CBS, ABC).

Jersey Shore: Gym, Tan, Look Back: Memorable moments from the hit reality series set in the Garden State are revisited in this new special (6 p.m. MTV).

Mack Sennett shorts: A program of "one-reelers" by the slapstick pioneer begins with "The Curtain Pole" (5 p.m. TCM) and also includes his feature-length 1914 comedy "Tillie's Punctured Romance" starring Charlie Chaplin (9:45 p.m. TCM).

Man on Fire:  The late Tony Scott directed Denzel Washington in this 2004 action tale set in Mexico; Christopher Walken and Dakota Fanning also star (10 p.m. Cinemax).

SPORTS

Tennis: Play continues at the U.S. Open in Flushing, N.Y. (7:30 a.m. Tennis; 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. ESPN2).

Baseball: The Angels face the Oakland Athletics (noon FSN).
