In the video above, you can see medical technicians working on Lawler, then eight men carry Lawler away from ringside to a waiting stretcher, which takes him backstage.
Because of the physical nature of their shows, WWE always has medical personnel on standby, a fact that may have saved Lawler's life.
The 62-year-old Lawler, nicknamed "The King," had stents placed in three blocked arteries on Tuesday, and remains heavily sedated in a Montreal hospital. He has not spoken since the incident, and doctors are not sure as to the extent of the damage Lawler suffered physically. He remains in critical but stable condition in a Cardiac Care Unit.
The WWE released the following statement Tuesday:
"Jerry 'The King' Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family."
