With less than an hour to go before Apple's event in San Francisco, the tech giant has taken down its online store, saying it is "busy updating."

Apple typically does this right before it launches new products, and today the company is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 5.

Some reports have said Apple plans to begin taking pre-orders for the device later in the day, which would explain the need to update the store.

Apple is also expected to update the iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle.

Earlier today, the website's search function revealed URLs containing the names of various products that are expected, including one URL that said "Apple-introduces-iPhone-5."
