Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will begin at 12:01 a.m. PDT Friday on Apple's website, the company told the Los Angeles Times.
That, of course, means East Coast folks will need to stay up until 3:01 a.m. if they want to buy their iPhone as soon as it's available.
Sprint will also begin pre-selling the iPhone 5 on its website at the same time.
AT&T and Verizon have yet to announce when they will start taking pre-orders, but the two companies are letting users sign up for email alerts.
Apple also has announced on its website that its retail stores around the country will start selling the phone when the stores open at 8 a.m. on Sept. 21.
