Letters: Apple's iPhone and economics

September 14, 2012

Re "Forget the Fed; new iPhone may pack a stimulus," Business, Sept. 12

This article is a perfect example of what is completely wrong with our economy. We rely on people buying products they do not need at prices they cannot afford and that become obsolete about every two years. We send much of the money to China for the thousands of workers there who make them.

If we made our toys here, workers could afford to buy them. Maybe then we could afford to educate our children to understand economics.
