Amanda Bynes, who is facing DUI and hit-and-run charges, says she is retired from acting and plans to start her own fashion line. Sounds as if she might be following in Lindsay Lohan's footsteps. [People]

Beth Ditto is scheduled to perform at the Versus show Friday night during Milan Fashion Week, which started Wednesday. Ditto has become a regular at fashion weeks -- performing, sitting front row and even occasionally walking the runway. [WWD]

A Pakistan apparel factory that caught fire, killing almost 300 workers this month had been certified as safe by a Western monitoring group just weeks before the tragedy.  “The enormity of this tragedy points to endemic issues in the apparel industry for decent working conditions,” the monitoring group, Social Accountability International, said in a statement.
