Aaron Paul blinked back tears from the podium as he accepted his second supporting actor Emmy for his turn as the troubled Jesse Pinkman on “Breaking Bad.” Paul said he didn’t expect to win, figuring his costar Giancarlo Esposito would take the trophy, as many predicted, for playing the drug kingpin Gus Fring.

“I cried in his arms and said, ‘It doesn’t make sense to me that I was on that stage and you’re not,’” Paul said backstage. “I didn’t know what to say to him."
Paul continued, "What he did with Gus Fring was so incredible. It’s so bizarre that I’m standing here right now.”

“I did not prepare anything,” Paul added. “It’s such a difficult category. In my speech, I was out of my head. I was shaking and trying not to sob. It’s unreal that I’m able to do what I’ve always dreamed of doing. I’m so humbled and honored.”
