Cincinnati Reds Manager Dusty Baker had a mini-stroke last week and will need at least one more week of rest before he's able to rejoin the team.
"I'm feeling much better, and it's great being back here in Cincinnati," Baker, 63, said in a statement. He returned to Cincinnati after being discharged from a Chicago hospital earlier in the week.
Chris Speier will remain interim manager of the Reds, who have already clinched a playoff spot, until Baker returns. Speier saw Baker when the manager visited the team on Tuesday.
"He's lost a lot of water weight," Speier said. "It was great to see him. Again, he looks really, really good. We're all anxious to get him back in charge."
