Keds has introduced a footwear collection in collaboration with singer Taylor Swift.

The women's shoes are a new take on the classic Champions sneaker, in 12 new designs. There are styles with chevron patterns created from guitars; polka dots alternating with paw prints; flowers floating over stripes; anchors and stars; and more.

Finishing touches include solid trim in coordinating colors and a special charm in one of two styles: a guitar pick or a silver heart that incorporates Swift's favorite number, 13.

The shoes are around $50 a pair and are available on Keds.com, Nordstrom.com and Journeys.com.

Product launches

Kiehl's has undertaken its annual project in honor of Earth Day (which is April 22). This year Zachary Quinto and Alanis Morissette have designed the labels for special containers of Kiehl's Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream that will sell for $46.50 when they hit stores and kiehls.com later this month, with 100% of proceeds earmarked for Recycle Across America.

Events

Tired of shopping and just want to attend a fun fashion event? The California African American Museum is sponsoring the annual "Haute Couture With Hatitude" fashion show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the courtyard at the museum, 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles. The event is to be hosted by dancer-choreographer Ingrid Graham and actor Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter. Stylist Mauva Gacitua is producing the fashion show, featuring couture from designers including Roberto Cavalli, Narciso Rodriguez, Burberry and Vera Wang. Men, women and children are invited to attend. Guests are encouraged to wear hats and can also design headwear during the event.  The event is free to the public, but parking in the nearby lot is $10 per vehicle.

Openings

Scoop NYC -- which calls itself "the Ultimate Closet for Women and Men" --  operated a holiday pop-up shop in Beverly Hills last year and on Tuesday announced it is converting the temporary shop into a full-time boutique. The location at 265 N. Beverly Drive is to remain open during renovations, which are expected to be complete by June. The store carries designer labels for men and women.

The first Inland Empire location for a Michael Kors discount outlet is scheduled to open Thursday at Ontario Mills. It's in the Fashion District at the huge shopping center, near the Coach Factory Store. The mall, located at the juncture of the 10 and 15 freeways in Ontario, is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet is slated to open its new Beverly Drive boutique on Friday. Opening weekend will include free manicures, champagne, popcorn  and cotton candy.  The store is at 408 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
