Los Angeles artist Ed Ruscha and Chinese architect Wang Shu have been named to Time magazine's new list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The annual list, which features personalities from politics, business, sports and culture, was released on Thursday.
Last year, Wang won the Pritzker Prize, the highest honor in the field of architecture. A resident of Hangzhou, located west of Shanghai, Wang has worked almost exclusively in China. His buildings include the Ningbo Museum of Art and the Ningbo Museum of History. Wang is the head of the Architecture School at China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. He also runs a practice with his wife, Lu Wenyu.
