Singer Katy Perry's fortress-like compound in Hollywood Hills West is for sale at $6.925 million.

The double-gated Mediterranean-style house, built in 1925, sits on nearly 3 acres with a caretaker's apartment/carriage house and a guesthouse.

Called Park Hill, the house features a baronial stone foyer with a sweeping staircase, a two-story living room, stained-glass windows and a carved fireplace mantel in the living room, a pub, a study and a media room. Including a four-room master suite, two guest suites and staff quarters, there are seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and 8,835 square feet of living space.

Perry, 28, will be releasing a new album this summer. Among her previous albums are "One of the Boys" (2008) and "Teenage Dream" (2010), which included five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

She bought the property in 2011 with then-husband Russell Brand for $6.5 million, but never occupied it. They divorced last year.

Ernie Carswell and Christopher Pickett of Teles Properties, Beverly Hills, are the listing agents.

Cher ditches her in-town digs

Singer-actress Cher has quietly unloaded her Sierra Towers condominium in West Hollywood for $5.25 million.

The 2,302-square-foot pied-a-terre was created by combining two one-bedroom units.

Cher bought the property in 2006 for $3 million, according to public records. She was offering the two-story unit outside the Multiple Listing Service at $5.5 million.

An avid home buyer and decorator, Cher used the in-town residence for one of her first ventures into Balinese-style interiors.

Building amenities include concierge service, a gym and a swimming pool.

Cher also has a house in Venice in escrow after less than a month on the market. It is owned through her trust and listed at slightly less than $1.9 million.

The remodeled contemporary features high ceilings, sliding glass walls, two fireplaces and a Cher signature amenity — an outdoor shower. A rooftop deck includes a built-in barbecue, sink and refrigerator. There are three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

She bought the property three years ago for $1,542,500, public records show.

The superstar, 66, made her name as part of the 1960s singing duo Sonny and Cher and won an Oscar for her starring role in "Moonstruck" (1987).

Rayni Romito and Branden Williams of Hilton & Hyland are the listing agents, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

A bit of 'Dallas' on the Westside

"Dallas" star Jesse Metcalfe and his fiancee, actress Cara Santana, bought a home in Hollywood Hills West for $1,432,500, public records show.

The 1925 Spanish-style house has been restored and features a courtyard with a fountain. There are five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and 2,362 square feet of living space in two stories.

Metcalfe, 34, plays Christopher Ewing in the remake of the TV series "Dallas," which began last year. He played teen gardener John Rowland on "Desperate Housewives" from 2004 to 2009 and starred in the films "John Tucker Must Die" (2006) and "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" (2009). More recently, Metcalfe starred in the crime thriller "Chase" (2010-11).

The property previously changed hands in 2002 for $1.15 million.

Matthew J. Altman and Joshua Altman of Hilton & Hyland were the listing agents.

Actor ready for a new scene

Actor Neal McDonough and his wife, Ruve, have put their house in L.A.'s Windsor Square on the market at $2.899 million.

Built in 1922, the Southern Colonial-style home features a step-down living room with a fireplace; a dining room that is used as a billiards room, and a high-ceilinged family room that opens to a patio with a spa, wet bar and lounge area. There are five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 4,067 square feet of living space.

McDonough, 47, is known for roles on the series "Band of Brothers" (2001), "Boomtown" (2002-03) and "Desperate Housewives" (2008-09). He was in the 2012 season of "Justified" and will play Joseph Hooker in the upcoming miniseries "To Appomattox."

The couple bought the quarter-acre property in 2005 for $2.675 million, public records show.

Lisa Hutchins of Coldwell Banker's Hancock Park North office is the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Caretaker opening at Sowden House

The storied Sowden House in Los Feliz is listed at $4.888 million.

Set behind gates and obscured from the street by heavy foliage, the unusual-looking residence has sometimes been called the "Jaws house" for its facade, which looks like either a Mayan temple or the open jaws of a shark.

Typical of Lloyd Wright designs, beyond the original copper entry door are stairs and a tight hallway, creating a feeling of compression before opening up to the living spaces within.

The 1927 structure is made of so-called textile blocks, patterned concrete blocks also favored by the architect's father, Frank Lloyd Wright. The designs depict water, earth and air.
