Wildcrafted Apothecary: Emily Ho, L.A. Food Swap-organizer and contributor to Apartment Therapy’s The Kitchn, and herbalist Rebecca Altman of King’s Road Apothecary are teaming up to teach a series of classes on medicinal foods using locally foraged plants and herbs. The Wildcrafted Apothecary’s first class, Elderflower Essentials, will be held May 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. The class costs $85 per person and includes foraging local elderflowers, tasting teas and tinctures, making elixirs and take-home packets with recipes, and an herbal guide. Registration ends Thursday and space is limited. Register online.

Scotch Tasting: On Thursday, Everson Royce will be hosting a Duncan Taylor Single Malt Scotch tasting at the Armory Center for the Arts. Duncan Taylor whiskeys from eight distilleries will be available for tasting throughout the evening, showcasing various regions and whiskey-making styles of Scotland, from 6 to 8 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling (626) 765-9334. Tickets to the event are $45 per person; a portion of the proceeds will go to the Armory Center for the Arts.

Pancakes and Booze: Touring art show Pancakes and Booze will make its way to L.A. on May 3 and 4. This year’s show will take place at Lot 613 downtown, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., and will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes with toppings to boot, live body painting, a free photo booth, audio and visual performances and various artworks on view. Entry is $5 per person and strictly for the 21-and-over crowd.
