Time Warner Cable is shaking up its executive staff.

The nation's second-largest cable company said Monday that Arthur Minson is returning to Time Warner Cable as the company’s chief financial officer after several years working in the executive ranks of AOL. He was most recently that company’s chief operating officer.

Minson, a former Time Warner Cable chief operating officer, will report to the company’s Chief Executive Glenn Britt.

“We’re delighted to welcome Artie back to Time Warner Cable,” Britt said in a statement. “His deep knowledge of the cable industry, the broad experience he gained at AOL as CFO and COO and his outstanding reputation in the financial community make him a great addition to our management team.”

Minson will be replacing Irene Esteves, who was in the job for two years. She raised eyebrows within the company early on when she said Time Warner Cable would rather not be in the sports programming business. That was after the company spent billions acquiring rights for the Lakers. It has since struck a deal to carry the Dodgers as well.
