Update: The Sparks are in second place in the Western Conference, seven games ahead of the last-place Shock. The Sparks, who are 3-4 on the road, will play the Shock in their first game of a five-game trip. The Shock is 4-6 at home. The Sparks beat the Shock, 76-69, on June 8 in L.A., and again, 94-78, on July 11 in Tulsa. Glory Johnson is leading the Shock with 16.1 points and 9.9 rebounds a game. Candace Parker, who was named most valuable player of the WNBA All-Star game July 27, leads the Sparks with 18.1 points and 9.2 rebounds a game.
