Football: Jameel Baker is defensive end to watch

August 14, 2013|By Eric Sondheimer

In the City Section, where there's lot of speed, Jameel Baker of L.A. University is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end who has shown he can take down running backs and quarterbacks.

He was defensive lineman of the year in the Western League last season as a junior.

The best defensive lineman in the West Valley League is Alex Manu of Birmingham. He's 6-2 and 285 pounds with agility. He's one of three Tongans likely to start on the defensive line for the Patriots.

Dorsey has a promising sophomore lineman in 6-4, 260-pound Nahje Flowers and a returning junior in Henry Wilks, who's 6-5, 260 pounds.
