If your travel plans this fall include Thailand, consider stopping off in Bangkok for a weekend stay at  Emporium Suites by Chatrium. The contemporary high-rise hotel in the capital city trims weekend rates up to 18% through October.

The deal: The Weekend Getaway starts at $134 a night and includes daily buffet breakfast for two, free Wi-Fi and Internet connections, welcome drinks and fruit, and late checkout. The hotel with 378 rooms receives high marks from travelers on TripAdvisor, noting it offers good views of the city. (Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows.)

When: The offer is good through Oct. 31.

Tested: I checked rates online and found availability for a Friday-to-Sunday stay, Oct. 18-20, at the slightly lower rate of $125 a night plus service charge. On those dates, I also had the option of a room upgrade for an extra $6 a night.
