Football: View Park linebacker Cameron Griffin gets attention

August 16, 2013|By Eric Sondheimer

In the City Section, there are several veteran linebackers returning, led by 6-foot-3, 220-pound senior Cameron Griffin from View Park Prep. He had 121 tackles as a junior.

Narbonne's Uchenna Nwosu and Carson's Manoah Pearson should be tops in the Marine League.

Roosevelt's Chris Campos will be beginning his third year as a starter on varsity.

Daniel Belton, a middle linebacker from South East, averaged 14.2 tackles last season and will be a three-year starter.

Dorsey has a promising junior linebacker in Sadique Hayward, 6 feet 3, 205 pounds. The school is known for producing All-City linebackers.

Arleta's Deandre Brewer has been starting since his sophomore seasons. He's 6-2, 210 pounds and should be a dominant defensive player in his senior year.

Pete Palacios is a 6-3 returning All-City linebacker at San Pedro.
