The Coen brothers and their longtime music supervisor T Bone Burnett are producing a concert inspired by "Inside Llewyn Davis," their upcoming film set in the 1960s Greenwich Village folk music scene.

The show, which is set for New York City's Town Hall on Sept. 29, will feature musical acts including Joan Baez, Marcus Mumford, Patti Smith and Jack White.

Some of the film's cast, including Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan and John Goodman, will also perform in the concert, which is titled "Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of 'Inside Llewyn Davis.'"

Based on Joel and Ethan Coens' original screenplay, "Inside Llewyn Davis" follows a week in the life of a struggling young folk singer (Isaac) on a quest to audition for a music mogul in 1961. With music supervised by Burnett, the soundtrack will feature 12 songs recorded for the film, as well as a previously unreleased Bob Dylan track called "Farewell."

The Coens and Burnett have a history of reviving old music together -- the soundtrack for their 2000 film, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," became a bestseller and Grammy winner. A live tour followed the film, and helped spur a renewed interest in Depression era blues and folk.

Portions of the proceeds from the "Inside Llewyn Davis" show will benefit the National Recording Preservation Foundation, a nonprofit that archives important historical recordings. Tickets for the concert go on sale Wednesday.

"Inside Llewyn Davis" opens in theaters Dec. 6.
