Crime alerts for Van Nuys and eight other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in nine L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Six neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Van Nuys (A) was the most unusual, recording 15 reports compared with a weekly average of 7.8 over the last three months.

Broadway-Manchester (G) topped the list of three neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 37 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 15.3 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Aug. 11–17, the most recent seven days for which data are available. This post was automatically created by an algorithm written by the authors.
