Earthquake: 2.6 quake strikes near San Fernando

A shallow magnitude 2.6 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning two miles from San Fernando, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:39 a.m. PDT at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Santa Clarita, nine miles from Burbank and 11 miles from La Crescenta.

In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
