Baseball: Bates brothers to leave Gardena Serra

August 22, 2013|By Eric Sondheimer

Brothers Solomon and Roosevelt Bates have decided to leave Gardena Serra and return to Victor Valley after helping the Cavaliers win a Southern Section championship last season, Athletic Director Ted  Dunlap confirmed on Thursday.

Dunlap said the boys' mother indicated a return to Victor Valley.

Solomon, a junior pitcher committed to USC, is considered one of the best in the Southland. His brother, a senior, plays outfield. Both had to sit out the first month of last season after transferring to Serra.
