Yasiel Puig made an early exit from the Dodgers’ game against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday afternoon, even though he wasn’t injured.

According to a team representative, Puig’s fifth-inning exit was a manager’s decision, which is often a way of saying there was a disciplinary issue.

Puig failed to slide in an attempt to break up a double play in the first inning. He slammed his bat after striking out in the third inning.

Puig made a couple of nonchalant one-handed catches in right field in the fourth inning, though he has been catching the ball in that manner all season.

Skip Schumaker was a defensive replacement for Puig in the top of the fifth inning, when the Dodgers rallied for two runs to increase their lead to 4-0.

Puig was 0 for 1 with a walk.
