NEW YORK -- It’s -- wait for it -- raining Wednesday at the U.S. Open and play is suspended until at least 11:30 a.m. PDT.

A few matches were completed before rain stopped play. Women’s No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska beat Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor, 6-0. 7-5 and No. 5 seed Li Na was never in danger in beating Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden, 6-2, 6-2.

San Diego’s CoCo Vandeweghe, who had come through qualifying, fell to 18th-seeded Carla Surarez Navarro, 6-3, 6-4.

On the men’s side, Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus is the only man to have finished and won. He beat Japan’s Go Soeda, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.

Still to come are women’s top seed Serena Williams, who is scheduled to play Galina Voskoboeva in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Venus Williams will play Zheng Jie of China in Louis Armstrong Stadium and Urszula Radwanska will take on 15th-seeded Sloane Stephens.

Coming up for the men: Andy Murray, defending champion and third seed, is playing France's Michael Llodra in the first night match.
