August 31, 2013|By Eric Sondheimer

Gardena Serra's trip to San Diego for its season football opener started well. Quarterback Jalen Greene had four first-half touchdown passes, and the Cavaliers led Arizona Desert Ridge, 28-6.

But the Cavaliers didn't score again and they held on for a 28-22 victory. The defense had to stop Desert Ridge in the final minute to preserve the victory.

Adoree' Jackson caught two touchdown passes. Jordan Lasley and Gregory Webb also caught TDs. Serra travels back to the San Diego area on Friday for a game against host Oceanside.
