Councilman Eric Garcetti's running for mayor and in his pursuit for campaign funds already has jammed with Moby at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. His performance on keyboards and conga drums last week helped earn his campaign $250,000 -- a one-night civic record, says the Hollywood Reporter.
So what's next? Now he's moving on from "high-achieving young hipsters from the digital world" to the dining and drinking elite by hosting a food, wine and cocktail tasting at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Feb. 20 with a slew of L.A. chefs and mixologists.
The fundraiser will feature hand-crafted cocktails from barmen Steve Livigni and Pablo Moix, the mixologists behind the drink menus at La Descarga, Harvard & Stone, Pour Vous and Plan Check Bar, in addition to food from a number of celebrated chefs around town.
The evening’s eats will come from chefs Mario Alberto of Laurel Hardware, Jiro Kobayashi of Sushi Roku, Antonia Lofaso of Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City, Daniel Mattern and Roxana Jullapat of Cooks County, Kris Morningstar of Ray’s & Stark Bar, Salvador Roldan of Franklin & Co., John Sedlar of Playa and Rivera, Jason Travi of Littlefork and Ricardo Zarate of Picca and Mo-Chica.
