Skier Lindsey Vonn looks tired but upbeat in a photo she posted on Facebook the day after undergoing surgery to repair two torn ligaments in her knee.
"Success! Surgery went very well yesterday and I'm recovering at home in vail with my family," she wrote in the post. "I want to sincerely thank everyone for their well wishes these last few days. It's going to be a long and hard road back but I will be back!! Xoxo"
The four-time overall World Cup champion is out for the rest of this season but has her sights set on returning in time for next year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, if not sooner.
Dr. Bill Sterett, who performed the procedure Sunday, thinks Vonn might even be back on the slopes in time for the start of World Cup season in November.
