Neil Patrick Harris and fiance David Burtka are not breaking up, nor are they canceling their wedding, despite a tabloid rumor.
Harris took time out of his vacation late Wednesday to put the kibosh on a National Enquirer story that claimed that the two had canceled their wedding after a "vicious lovers' spat" on their way to a Hollywood party.
"The Nat Enq is cray cray," the "How I Met Your Mother" star tweeted. "We've never had a wedding date, just engaged (Prop 8 and all). We're on a cruise as I write. He's rad. All good."
Harris, who plays legendary womanizer Barney Stinson on the series, and chef Burtka were engaged in 2011 after the state of New York moved to make gay marriage legal.
"David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago!" NPH tweeted back then. "We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
In October 2010, the couple welcomed fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, whom they had using a surrogate. This week's Enquirer story suggested the couple would go head-to-head in a vicious custody battle over the children, which, again, is not happening.
In other "HIMYM" breakup news, word surfaced this week that Harris' costar Jason Segel and girlfriend Michelle Williams had called it quits.
In early February, CBS announced that their sitcom chronicling the quest by Ted (Josh Radnor) to meet his kids' mom would be renewed for a ninth and final season. Harris' character is set to wed this season.
