John Carter: Taylor Kitsch plays Edgar Rice Burroughs' interplanetary hero in this too-big-for-its-britches 2012 sci-fi fable (12:55 and 9 p.m. Starz).


College basketball: Davidson meets Duke (4 p.m. ESPN2), Florida State faces Auburn (4 p.m. FS Prime) and Cal State Bakersfield takes on San Diego State (7 p.m. TWSN).
