Just days after saying he has no intention of leaving, Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly was in Philadelphia interviewing for the Eagles head coaching job.
Kelly met with the Eagles on Tuesday, and they have agreed to meet again this weekend, according to ESPN.com.
Kelly led the Fighting Irish to a 12-1 record in the season that just ended, the only blemish coming in their 42-14 loss to Alabama in the BCS title game.
Kelly was asked about heading to the NFL on Saturday, and he said, "Leaving Notre Dame is not an option. I don't even think about it. I think from my perspective I've got the best job in the country, NFL, college, high school, whatever. I just look at the place that I'm at and thankful for the opportunity that I have."
Kelly has a contract through the 2016 season with Notre Dame. He became head coach in 2009 and has led the Fighting Irish to a 28-11 record in that time.
