Food FYI: New Girl Scout Mango Creme cookies -- 'nutrient-infused'?

Move over, Thin Mints, there's a new Girl Scout cookie -- Mango Crèmes with NutriFusion. Yum?

Alongside this year's usual roster of Tagalongs, Samoas and Peanut Butter Patties is the latest tropical-inspired cookie featuring mango, coconut, vanilla and something called NutriFusion. The sandwich cookies feature coconut-vanilla cookies with a mango-flavored cream center along with what the manufacturer says are "the nutrient benefits of eating cranberries, pomegranates, oranges, grapes and strawberries."

Mango Crèmes are the first cookie in the Girl Scouts' history to be partnered with NutriFusion, which "supercharges" foods' nutritional value by adding preserved nutrients, formulated by removing moisture from freeze-dried, macerated fruits and vegetables and grinding them into a powder, according to the company's website.

According to cookie maker ABC Bakers, a three-cookie serving contains 15% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) of vitamin B1 and 5% RDI of vitamins A, C, D, E and B6. It also contains 180 calories and 4 grams of saturated fat, which, points out ABCNews.com, is more calories than four Thin Mints and as many grams of saturated fat as Tagalongs.
