SERIES

30 Rock:  Liz (Tina Fey) tries to rally the staff and save TGS from cancellation in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

Last Resort:  A violent battle for control of the submarine erupts, which leaves it vulnerable to being taken over by a third party. Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Daisy Betts and Autumn Reeser also star in the season finale (8 p.m. ABC).

American Idol:  Auditions continue in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Project Runway:  A preview of the new season introduces the designers (8 p.m. Lifetime). That's followed by the season premiere at 9.

Beauty and the Beast: Vincent (Jay Ryan) must deal with fallout from his past after a narrow escape from his former fiancee (Bridget Regan) in this new episode (9 p.m. KTLA).

Glee:  The ladies of the glee club plan a "Sadie Hawkins" dance — where the girls ask the boys — in this new episode (9 p.m. Fox).

Anger Management:  Charlie (Charlie Sheens) begins a romantic relationship with an ex-patient in this new episode (9:30 p.m. FX).

1600 Penn: In this new episode, the President (Bill Pullman) exercises his authority to locate someone of importance to the first family. (Jenna Elfman and Josh Gad also star in this new episode (9:30 p.m. NBC).

SPORTS

Winter X Games: (Noon and 6 p.m. ESPN).

College basketball: Purdue at Michigan (4 p.m. ESPN); Tennessee at Mississippi (4 p.m. ESPN2); UCLA at Arizona (6 p.m. ESPN2); Pepperdine at Loyola Marymount (6 p.m. TWSN); BYU at Gonzaga (8 p.m. ESPN2).

Pro basketball: The New York Knicks visit the Boston Celtics (5 p.m. TNT); the Clippers visit the Phoenix Suns (7:30 p.m. FS Prime and TNT).

Pro hockey: The Kings visit the Edmonton Oilers (6:30 p.m. FSN).
