Though it's one of the most obsessively bootlegged bands on the planet, Pearl Jam has played only sporadically in North America over the last few years, and that doesn't appear set to change in 2013: On Wednesday, the long-running Seattle group announced it will play two concerts in July -- neither one, we must report, in Los Angeles.

On July 16, Pearl Jam is scheduled to perform at Canada's Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario; three days later the band will hit Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 19. Tickets for both shows -- referred to in a release as "An Evening with Pearl Jam," meaning no opening act -- are to go on sale Feb. 9.

The only other dates on the band's itinerary at the moment are appearances at three South American festivals: Lollapalooza Brasil (in Sao Paulo on March 31), El Festival Mas Grande (in Buenos Aires on April 3) and Lollapalooza Chile (in Santiago on April 6).

In September, Pearl Jam played a handful of U.S. concerts following the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, where it co-headlined with Jay-Z and backed the rapper for a lively rendition of his "99 Problems." The band's most recent studio album, "Backspacer," came out in 2009.
