Cake Boss: Next Great Baker:  Michael Strahan asks the competitors to create the perfect cake to celebrate Kelly Ripa's birthday on live television (9 p.m. TLC).

Dallas: Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Brenda Strong and Mitch Pileggi are in the cast as the series returns (after the death late last year of star Larry Hagman) with two new episodes (9 and 10 p.m. TNT).

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations:  Anthony Bourdain explores New Orleans in this new episode (9 p.m. Travel).

Deception: Joanna (Meagan Good) discovers that Julian (Wes Brown) is harboring a secret (10 p.m. NBC).

Independent Lens: The new episode "The Revisionaries" examines the process by which the Texas State Board of Education rewrites the teaching and textbook standards (10 p.m. KOCE).


L.A. Mayoral Debate:  Moderated by Conan Nolan, four of the major candidates — City Councilman Eric Garcetti, City Controller Wendy Greuel, attorney and radio personality Kevin James and City Councilwoman Jan Perry — will discuss the issues (7 p.m. NBC).
