The Kings will start their 82-game regular season Oct. 3 at Minnesota and return to Staples Center for their home opener Oct. 7 against the New York Rangers, the team announced in releasing its 2013-14 schedule Friday.
The Kings’ anticipated outdoor game at Dodger Stadium against the Ducks will be Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, the NHL will break for players to participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia from Feb. 9-26.
Following a lockout-shortened season that was filled exclusively with games against Western Conference opponents, the Kings will play 16 games against Eastern Conference opponents, including a Jan. 9 home game against Stanley Cup finalist Boston and a Jan. 30 home date vs. Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Kings will play 29 games against their Pacific Division rivals, including games against the Ducks at Staples Center March 15 and April 12 and at Honda Center Dec. 3 and Jan. 23.
Defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago, which defeated the Kings in this year’s Western Conference finals, will be home to the Kings Dec. 15 and Dec. 30, and visit Staples Center Feb. 3.
