As the Clippers continued their search for a new coach, former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott was the latest candidate to interview for the job Tuesday, according to several NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Scott met with Clippers President Andy Roeser, vice president of basketball operations Gary Sacks and director of basketball operations Eric Miller at the team’s practice facility.

“The interview went very well,” according to one executive.

Scott talked to the Clippers on the heels of Indiana associate head coach Brian Shaw having his face-to-face with the team’s front office Monday, according to several executives.

The Clippers, however, will have competition for Shaw’s services.

Shaw is scheduled to interview with the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday for their head coaching opening, and the Denver Nuggets are trying to set up an interview as well, according to several executives.

The Clippers will continue their search by bringing in former Memphis Grizzlies Coach Lionel Hollins for an interview Wednesday.

The Clippers will finish their interviews to find a coach to replace Vinny Del Negro by having former Portland Trail Blazers Coach Nate McMillan in Thursday.

Then the decision to hire a coach will come down to Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
