The Clippers and Boston Celtics resumed talks Monday on a mega-deal that would send Coach Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett to L.A., said several NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

The two teams have also discussed how forward Paul Pierce can be in the deal, the executives said.

But nothing has been consummated yet, as both sides continue to haggle over how to get the deal done.

PLASCHKE: Celtics should let Doc Rivers go

The Clippers remain willing to send center DeAndre Jordan and at least one No. 1 pick to the Celtics for the rights to sign Rivers to a contract and to get Garnett, who will waive his no-trade clause, one executive said.

Eric Bledsoe is not in the deal, an executive said.

The Clippers will wait for the Celtics to buy Pierce out of his $15.3 million contract for $5 million, which has to happen by the end of this month, the executives said.

If that happens, the Clippers will look to sign Pierce so he can join Rivers and Garnett, who has two years and $24.4 million left on his deal, in L.A., the executive said.

Rivers earns $7 million per season on a deal that has three years left.
