Police in Connecticut have arrested a second man – possibly an associate of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez – in connection with the slaying of Odin Lloyd, according to the Boston Globe.

Carlos Ortiz, 27, of Bristol, Conn., is being held on a $1.5-million bond, the report said, although the charges are not known.

Hernandez, who is from Bristol, was arrested Wednesday on first-degree murder charges in the death of Lloyd, whose bullet-riddled body was found less than a mile from the player’s home.

According to an Attleborough, Mass., prosecutor, Hernandez summoned two friends from Connecticut to join him before Lloyd was killed. Those two men have not been publicly identified.

There are specific details in the prosecution’s case against Hernandez that suggest one or both of the unnamed men could be talking to police.
