Here’s another reason to love L.A.: Car rental rates in the City of Angels are among the lowest of any major city in the country.

The average car rental rate in Los Angeles over the last 12 months was $30 a day, according to a survey by Cheapcarrental.net. Los Angeles had the third cheapest rate of the nation’s 50 top destinations in the study.

The most expensive rates were found in New York, where the average price was $72 per day.

But rental rates aren’t the only consideration when driving.

Quiz: Why are California gas prices so high?

The price of a regular gallon of gas in Los Angeles last week was an average of $4.10, while a gallon of regular sold for an average of $4.01 in New York, according to the AAA.

According to the car rental study, visitors get the best deal in Milwaukee, where car rental rates were $27 per day and gas prices were at an average of $3.73 per gallon.
