Sundance Channel's first original series, "Rectify," has received glowing reviews for its short season of just six episodes. So it's good news for fans that the legal drama has been renewed for a longer, 10-episode second season.
"Rectify" stars Aden Young as a man who spent 19 years on death row for a crime he didn't commit. When new evidence comes to light, he's releaed and has to readjust to life outside the big house.
Abigail Spencer, Clayne Crawford, Adelaide Clemons and Hal Holbrook also star.
The series was created by Ray McKinnon, who's best known for his role as Rev. Smith on HBO's "Deadwood." Although he has also distinguished himself by winning the Academy Award (alongside his late wife) for best live-action short film in 2001 for "The Accountant."
In order to give the lauded series extra exposure, Sundance re-aired the premiere episode on sister network AMC in late April following a new episode of "Mad Men."
