Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was the victim of theft over the weekend, with two guns and $2,000 stolen from his Maryland home.

Baltimore County police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton said Monday that Rice was out of town for the weekend, but a friend staying at the home in Reisterstown, Md., reported the incident to the police.

"My family and I are fine, which is the most important thing," Rice said in a team-issued statement to USA TODAY Sports. "This is an unfortunate incident that I am dealing with through the proper channels."

The incident took place between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 12:50 a.m. Saturday, Batton said.

The burglar, who is seen in surveillance video, is said to have forced his way in through a rear window before ransacking portions of the house.

Rice was a second-round draft pick for the Ravens in 2008 and has made the Pro Bowl three times for the reigning Super Bowl champs.
